The involvement of the AMULET group in this project was primarily concerned with the development of the AMULET 1 asynchronous implementation of the ARM architecture. This was an attempt to demonstrate that it was feasible to produce large scale asynchronous circuits which - in CMOS technologies - promise lower system power consumption than their synchronous counterparts. This has been successful and working silicon has been delivered.
