An AMULET2e Demonstrator

WenChuan Xiong

Abstract

AMULET2e is a second generation asynchronous ARM microprocessor developed by the AMULET group at the University of Manchester. To demonstrate the unique properties of AMULET2e, a portable embedded system incorporating this asynchronous microprocessor has been built and a real time application program has been developed to run this system. The design is base upon low power strategies both in hardware and software aspects.

This thesis introduces the innovative features in asynchronous processor design and describes the design and implementation of the embedded system and the relevant application program, which are based on AMULET2e.
