I am a Research Fellow in the School Of Computer Science at the University of Manchester, a member of the APT research group working for Prof. Steve Furber.
Research Interests
- Spiking neural networks
- Sparse distributed memory
- Low power application in forward error correction
- Asynchronous logic
Recreational Interests
- Sports: badminton, skiing, fellwalking, tower bell ringing
- Go: I have played go on and off for some 30 years but never quite made it to dan level
- Family History: having an uncommon name has made it relatively easy to trace my main ancestral line back about 300 years. Other names of interest to me are Aspinall, Brear, Dawber, Eastham, Healey, Kershaw, Latus, and Ormerod.
